We designed this kitchen for a property in Kent, featuring our on-frame Heritage Range of cabinets.
The tall kitchen cabinets finished in Farrow & Ball Green Smoke with a brushed and waxed brass trim detailing are perfectly complimented by the fluted oak base cabinets and stunning Bianco Eclypsia worktops.
Between the two sets of tall units, where you would typically expect to find wall units, we designed and crafted a bespoke open shelving unit to display personal items such as vases and photo, creating a gallery-like feel in the kitchen. The shelving is made from a subtle, delicate satin brass rod structure matching the brass trim which helps maintain a light, open aesthetic. We opted for glazed herringbone tiles behind the shelves, to add an additional layer of texture and interest while keeping the overall sense of lightness.
The interaction between the kitchen design and the architecture was a crucial part of the brief and required careful consideration. We drew inspiration from the symmetry found throughout the space—particularly in the ceiling, entrance doors, columns and rear glazing. The scale and proportions of the cabinets were also important considerations. We aimed to complement, rather than detract from, the detailing around the entrance doors, ensuring that the kitchen didn’t overpower the space.
